Chocolate Milkshake, we all love it. But the problem is how unhealthy it is.
The longer you pursue a new lifestyle as far as food, drinks, and what you put in your body, the more likely you are to take your health seriously.
That includes:
- WHAT you put in your body.
- What you eat.
- What you drink.
And measuring the number of carbs, sugars, and nutrition overall with each meal.
It only sounds like a headache for those who don’t care or are still asleep behind the wheel.
Keto chocolate milkshake recipe:
- Tablespoon of cacao powder.
- A teaspoon of your favourite sweetener.
- 100ml of cream (of your choice).
- 150ml of unsweetened almond, soy, or whichever low-carb milk you choose.
- And whipping cream if you choose (optional).
Instead of a regular chocolate milkshake, a keto milkshake is the way to go.
Here are the benefits.
Big benefits of keto chocolate milkshake:
1. Loaded with magnesium and potassium
Depending on the amount of cacao powder used, you can get anywhere from:
- 150-300mg of potassium.
- 65-120+ mg of magnesium.
And that’s in a single bottle/jar of keto chocolate milkshake.
You’ll be getting some other good stuff from the other ingredients as well.
2. Vitamin D and calcium
Whichever milk you decide to choose, you’re getting a decent amount of:
- Calcium.
- Vitamin D.
And a few other benefits as far as vitamins and minerals.
Only good things can come from downing a keto chocolate milkshake compared to the regular thing.
3. Cheap and cheerful
It all depends on where you get your products from, but as a general rule, cacao powder, unsweetened plant milk, healthy sweeteners like stevia, and cream is doable for most.
You only need to buy them once (aside from the milk or cream) and they’ll last you a while as well.
You can’t lose in this scenario.
4. Delicious
I should have tried this sooner. Keto Chocolate Milkshake is good, and that’s despite the fact I added a slightly extra bit of cacao powder.
Obviously, once you learn how to make the recipe you can adjust it to fit your taste buds, but as a standard, there’s no way you won’t enjoy it if you had a sweet tooth before going keto.
5. Good amounts of protein and fibre
It’s true. Because of the chocolate, and especially because you’re using cacao powder to make your own, the amount of protein and fibre is more than good enough.
Around 4-8g of each depending on how much you have.
Best of all, you’re getting more of the good stuff and less of the bad (sugar, carbs).
6. A semi-fatty drink that’s healthy
The problem I’ve always had is buying milkshakes from supermarkets, restaurants, or wherever else it’s sold and made by someone else.
The issue here is you put your health in their hands, and if it has too much sugar or carbs you can’t do anything about it.
So, I decided to start making my own. And you get a decent amount of fat as far as drinks go (without the BS added).
7. Decent amounts of zinc, iron, and copper
The good thing about chocolate and cacao powder is the iron, zinc, and copper you can get out of it.
With regular chocolate the beneficial minerals and vitamins don’t even matter because the carbs and sugar is so high it just depletes the benefits, and you don’t see any of it,
When making your own keto chocolate milkshake you can reap the benefits the way you’re supposed to.
8. Easy To Make
Remember – it ONLY has 4 ingredients. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
If you feel like adding more you can add:
- Vanilla extract (or a different kind).
- You can try coconut oil instead of cream.
- You can use soya cream as well, especially if dairy is an issue.
Or any other alternative you can think of that would go well with chocolate.
You can either:
- Mix it in a bowl.
- Or blend it (the easy way).
